Spreadex isn’t one of those countless online sportsbooks that mushroomed following the pandemic lockdowns and restrictions. It’s a time-tested UK-based betting website and trading platform that has been around since 1999. Spreadex is an all-in-one venue regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and the UK Gambling Commission that offers two types of sports betting – fixed odds and spread betting – as well as financial trading and casino games.

While doing research for our Spreadex review, we were astonished by the number of rewards the sportsbook had compiled over the years, most recently, “Best Sports Spread Betting Operator” at the 2020 EGR Operator Awards and “Best Financial Spread Betting Provider” at the City of London Wealth Management Awards 2020. With thousands of sports markets to enjoy in-play, spread, or fixed-odds betting, along with a variety of slots and classic table games, Spreadex has you covered no matter what type of games you’re in the mood for.

Bonuses & Promotions

If you’re planning on venturing into sports betting, at Spreadex, you can count on £35 in Spreadex free bets, plus up to £25 in fixed-odds bets and two £5 free Total Goals spread bets upon registering. All you need to do to claim your bonus package is to place a £25 fixed-odds bet at minimum odds of 1/2. To qualify, you can’t place your bets in-play or cash out early.

Also, newly registered players who place a fixed-odds bet of at least £10 at minimum odds of 1/2 can get two free £5 football Total Goals spread bets, plus £300 cashback if they stake £300 or more.

Other Spreadex promotions include free bets, spread free bets, first-scorer insurance, and the possibility of earning risk-free £100 Total Goals spread through referrals.

Game Selection & User Experience

Spreadex makes sure you’ll have a smooth ride across the platform with its well-organized website clearly divided into sports-betting, gambling, and trading sections. If you choose the betting section, you’ll be able to easily navigate the markets by tabbing between spread betting or fixed-odds betting. The results are listed on the right, and your betting slip will be clearly displayed on the left side of the Spreadex website.

Should you decide to play a round of poker, hit the Casino section, where you’ll be able to play 95 fantastic slots and several roulette and blackjack titles. You can also play on your mobile, as Spreadex has top-notch dedicated apps for iOS and Android devices that work seamlessly.

Sportsbook

Now for Spreadex’s specialty, sports betting. With a tradition of more than 20 years and a background specifically in online betting, which goes all the way back to 2006, the Spreadex sportsbook is worth stopping by. It offers hundreds of sports markets, including football, cricket, horse racing, golf, tennis, darts, esports, and more, with as many as 150 selections to bet on for any given sporting event. Many markets are available in-play if you’d like to feel that adrenaline rush as you bet during the match.

The sportsbook offers hundreds of bet types such as over/under, both teams to score, handicaps, goalscorer markets, card and corner bets, alternative handicaps in basketball, and all types of multiples such as accumulators, Lucky 15s, and Heinz bets. Spreadex reviews all the bets you’d like to place with a prebuilt bet builder and customizes the wagers.

Payment Options

When it comes to funding your account and payouts, Spreadex plays safe and allows only traditional banking methods: UK debit cards (Visa, Switch/Maestro), credit cards (Visa, Mastercard), bank transfers, cheques, and direct debit set up over the phone or via mandate forms. Deposits via debit and credit cards can be made online or over the phone, and for bank transfers, you’ll have to wait two days until the money is credited. The minimum deposit is £10. Note that Spreadex currently doesn’t accept any e-wallets or third-party payments.

The same Spreadex payment methods mentioned above can be used for cashing out, and you’ll be able to make a request over the phone, too. The minimum payout amount is £50, and the top limit for cards is £25,000, except for Mastercard, which is limited to £2,500. Spreadex also offers to send you a cheque. As for the wait times, get ready to wait for anywhere between two and five business days for debit card transactions and two business days for bank transfers. We love the fact that Spreadex offers credit facilities, allowing punters to place wagers without depositing funds to their accounts, without additional charges.

Customer Support & Security

Being a tried-and-true company with a long tradition, Spreadex takes security seriously. As we’ve already mentioned, this online betting venue holds licenses by the FCA and the UKGC. For punters outside the UK, Spreadex operates under the umbrella of NetEnt Alderney Limited, which is an Alderney Gambling Control Commission approved Business Association with AGCC Class II License Holder.

Abiding by the FCA rules, Spreadex keeps its clients’ money on bank accounts separated from its own funds. It also uses standard SSL encryption to protect players’ sensitive data.

Finally, if you’re having trouble refraining from gambling, this gambling venue offers a range of options to help you stay on the right track. You can contact Spreadex customer support to set a reality check or deposit limits on your fixed-odds ledger or your casino account. Another option is to set a timeout period that can last from one day up to six weeks or go for self-exclusion of at least six months and up to five years.

Customer support agents can be contacted via live chat or phone service available every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. We don’t think you’ll need their services, though, as the sportsbook has most of the information you might need digested into blog posts and FAQs. There’s also a useful Get Started section.

  • Live chat: Yes
  • Phone: 01727 895 000, +44 1727 895 000 (overseas)
  • Social media: Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram

Final Verdict

Our Spreadex review left no stone unturned, trying to bring to light all the positive aspects and rough patches of this sportsbook and casino. We focused on the sports betting and casino sections and left the trading section to financial experts.

In general, we were happy with the generous sportsbook welcome bonus, but we regret that there were no similar offers for casino fans. That being said, thousands of sports markets and a wide variety of bet types left a favourable impression on us. We were also satisfied with all the helpful information we found on the website. Still, we’d like to see the customer support agents available 24 hours, as round-the-clock support is pretty much industry standard these days.

We hope you’ll join Spreadex, review all it has to offer, and have lots of fun along the way.
